Iogo Yogurt Launch and Tasting

Editor’s Note: Today I have the pleasure of introducing Nickie as not only a guest blogger for this post, but a new contributor for the blog! She will be sharing her wine, beer and spirits experiences with us. She is an amazing cook, baker and enjoy-er of wine and cocktails. Look out for more posts from her!

I had the pleasure of joining my bestie, Dee, at the launch and tasting event for Iogo yogurt at Boneta in Gastown. As I have long been promising her, I finally decided to write up a review, so here goes – bear with me, it’s my first time.

There were friendly and fun staff serving a good selection of hors d’oeuvres, all of which incorporated Iogo yogurt, of course. The chicken satay got my vote for first place, although, the bacon and caramelized onion tart was a close second. All of the recipes were in a cookbook they were giving out – I made sure to pick one up.

The event invitation promised a “new yogurt cocktail that will play with your tastebuds!” – they did not disappoint!

My favourite was the Strawberry Shortcake Martini – delicious! They had a great variety of Iogo yogurt products in an array of flavours at the event.

They also provided us a swagbag with even more flavours to try at home. I was very impressed with the different flavours and types of yogurt they had.

Iogo truly has something for everyone: Probio and 0% for the health nuts. Greko for those who love thick creamy yogurt. Nano (mini yogurt cups and mini yogurt drinks) and Zip (yogurt in a tube) for kids. The seem to have pretty much every flavour under the sun, including passion fruit and chocolate-raspberry. I’m a sucker for anything pear, so I absolutely loved their pear-apricot vanilla probio yogurt. Seriously. I think I could eat just that for the rest of my life and be happy. The other flavours I tried are: Probio orange-mandarin, 0% caffe latte, Greko honey and Nano raspberry. I thought they were all very good. I have a tub of 0% key lime pie waiting for me at home, and, I just know it will be as good as the rest.

Thanks Iogo! You definitely made me a fan!

About Nickie

A true food lover and chef at heart, Nickie began cooking at a very early age. She began learning her way around a kitchen by helping her parents and other family members prepare meals. As she grew up she began experimenting with cooking and baking everything from basic steamed veggies to elaborately decorated multi-tiered cakes. Her mixed Asian- British background has helped inspire and encourage her culinary diversity. Today, she still enjoys cooking for her family and friends, always experimenting with new ingredients. She is now looking to expand her horizons and branch out into the world of foodies and food bloggers to share her experiences.

It was strange to have yogurt in a martini but quite refreshing!

  • Noname

We bought an 8 pack of these after seeing all the ads but they taste terrible. I just saw a coworker eat them, I asked her, she said the same thing as well.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience! I definitely encourage you to contact them (http://www.iogo.ca/en/contact-us) and let them know!

  • Akosua

This yogurt has a horrible after taste. It has a chemical sweet taste for a yogurt that supposed to be “natural”. It tastes disgusting, will never buy again!

Hi Akosua! I’d definitely let them know in their Contact Us section that you’ve had a bad experience with their yogurt. The only way they can get any better is by honest feedback like yours. :)

I love Iogo yogurt. Don’t care for the name, but the product is fantastic, nice and low in calories and has a full rich taste. Providing the quality of this product remains, I’ll be buying a lot more yogurt in future. (I haven’t purchased yogurt in years, until I tried logo).

Vanilla & Keylime pie are great, I doubt I’ll be making Martinis with it.

Agreed! I love the coffee flavoured one. I’m not too sure whether I’ll be making any recipes with them, but I’ll definitely be enjoying them as well.
