La Casa Gelato

La Casa Gelato is like the equivalent to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory for Gelato fiends. It’s brightly coloured, wide open space is literally a candy store for kids.

With over 200 flavours on site at all times, you’ll find the typical flavours (chocolate, vanilla) to the more stranger variety (wasabi, durian, peanut butter bacon to name a few).

My ultimate favourite ice cream/gelato flavour is Rocky Road. I know a lot of purists hate the addition of ‘junk’ into their ice cream, but not only am I a chocolate lover, I do enjoy the nuts and marshmallows that go into it. I should be more adventurous, but I always seem to gravitate to this flavour here. I also love their Hedgehog and Mango flavours.

Brian ordered the Mango Jackfruit, he is quite the opposite of me and prefers lighter, fruity flavours. Thanks for being my hand model, Brian!

Needless to say, on a hot summer day, this one scoop doesn’t last very long! One scoop is $5, but that’s all you really need. It’s a great place to take visitors from out of town or satisfy your sweet tooth. They’re open every day from 11am-11pm (and sometimes in the summer time, even later).
