Every year, there’s always that dread of “What am I going to get ____ ?” or maybe you’re participating in a Secret Santa and have no idea where to start. I’ve had this problem in the past years and through my research, I decided to share on the blog and it seemed like a lot of people appreciated these guides, so here I am again to share some of my favourites and things I wouldn’t mind receiving!
Today, I’m sharing some of my favourite liquor and cocktail gifts that either already live in my liquor cabinet or wish I had!
1. Gillespie’s Lemoncello ($45.00)
Gillespie’s Lemoncello scored first place in BC’s Distilled Aperitif/Digestif. I’m normally not a fan of lemon aperitifs, but this one has a good balance of sweet and tangy notes.
2. Okanagan Spirits Gin ($40.00)
When I made my way to Kelowna a while back, I was introduced to Okanagan Spirits. While I’m not a huge fan of Gin, this one is so clean and had a great taste of juniper without being overbearing.
3. Okanagan Spirits Blackcurrant Liqueur ($30.00)
Another one of my faves from Okanagan Spirits is their liqueurs. While it’s hard to pick just one, I’d have to say BlackCurrant is my favourite of the bunch. Pour a little into a bit of champagne or even over your ice cream for a boozy delight.
4. Bittered Slings (Price Ranges)
Your cocktails deserve the very best – add Bittered Slings, a locally founded company that produces high quality bitters.
5. Long Table Gin ($44.99)
In an attempt to expand my flavour palate, I’ve been experimenting with a lot of Gin and Whisky this year, and Long Table Distillery produces some fantastic Gin that’s perfect for mixing. They also have a Cucumber Gin that’s just as fantastic.
6. The Famous Grouse ($40.99)
Made in Scotland’s oldest whisky distillery, the Famous Grouse is the perfect whisky to use for cocktails.
7. Odd Society’s Crème de Cassis
I feel like I might’ve added this to my list last year, but it’s just that good! Made with BC grown black currants, this is one I like to keep in my liquor cabinet for guests.
8. Casamigos Reposado Tequila ($74.99)
Celebrity alcohol is nothing new, but one of the best out there (if not the best..who knows, I’m working my way through them all!) has got to be Casamigos Tequila. If you’re looking for a more refined tequila that you can sip or enjoy on the rocks, the Reposado is my favourite.
9. Cointreau ($17.99-$31.99)
Cointreau is a triple sec that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or digestif or mixed in cocktails. This is a staple in all liquor cabinets, including my own.
10. The Macallan Edition No. 2 ($159.99)
Whoever is gifted this beautiful single malt scotch whisky is either a true aficianado or an extremely lucky basterd that I’d like to be friends with. Quoted as one of the best Macallan has to offer in years, it’s definitely worth the investment. My other faves from the Macallan line? The 1824 Series.
11. Baron Samedi Spiced Rum ($29.99)
Hands down my favourite spiced rum. Featuring vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon and the Haitian Vetiver – this is a wonderful rum to enjoy with cola or ginger beer.
What are your favourite go-tos? Is there something missing on this list that is a must try? Let me know!
