It has been quite a bit since I’ve sat as a judge – so excited to be a part of this great event.
On April 9th, 2017 the third annual Barn Burner BBQ is back. The event is free with donations accepted that will go towards Full Cupboard, a program that raises food, funds and awareness for the food banks in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Langley, Surrey and the surrounding communities.
Each participating team will be judged on Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken and Ribs, with the highest total points bringing home $5000, along with the Barn Burner BBQ Grand Championship trophy!
Each team competes in a Black Box cook-off, similar to Iron Chef where there are 4 mystery ingredients and will be judged upon originality, taste and presentation.
The event opens at 10am with judging happening throughout – I will be participating in the Black Box competition that happens at 3pm!
The Barn Burner BBQ is located at the Farm Store – 4540 Simmons Rd., Chilliwack. There is a free shuttle that will take you from the parking lot to the event site.
