I used to come here every other day when I attended Emily Carr University. The Granville Island Tea Company has a wide assortment of loose tea, the people there always know their tea and they have the best chai tea lattes. The lattes have a thick texture, with bits of the spices – ginger and cayenne – melt on your tongue and is the most flavorful chai I’ve had around town. The matcha chai tea latte is equally amazing.
This is the mentioned chai. They steep a tea bag, add their own mix of chai, the ginger and cayenne. It has a bite, has a hint of sweetness, but thick and velvety. Go for it. You will never want anything more than this chai. I still dream about it sometimes now that I’m no longer at Emily Carr on colder days.
