I’M INCLUDING COOKIES! This first week, I’ll teach you how to make Bourbon Balls, that are delicious spiked NO BAKE cookies. They’re quick and easy to make if you’re in a pinch for a party or just a sweet toothed, drunkard like me.
Included with this tea pairing is the lovely Organic Masala Chai from Tea Sparrow, and my last review. Chai I find is always really good with chocolate, because it adds spice to your tongue’s palate. I have quite a bit of tea to consume from last season’s Tea Tuesdays. I have two new teas from new vendors I’m going to pair up in the future posts, one including an authentic Japanese tea seller and a cute little shop that opened near the central library.
Anyway, to the bourbon balls!
Bourbon Balls (no bake bourbon cookies)
12 oz package vanilla wafers, finely crushed
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
2 1/2 tbsp corn syrup
1/2 cup bourbon (I used Wild Turkey for this)
powdered sugar
Steps:
1. Combine vanilla wafers, pecans, powdered sugar and cocoa in a bowl. Stir well.
2. Combine corn syrup and bourbon and stir well – make sure the two are combined and there’s no goop at the bottom.
3. Pour bourbon mix into dry ingredients.
4. Shape into 1-inch balls and roll in additional white powder sugar.
Viola! Drunken cookie madness!
