During our stay in Kelowna, we stayed at the Best Western Plus which is known for leading the path in it’s green initiatives. We all got to stay in the LEED Silver hotel wing that features low flow fixtures, energy efficient lighting – which switches off when it detects no one is in the room. What was really cool was the piping system doubled as a towel rack, so our towels stayed nice and toasty.

It seemed like a big hotel room for just one person like myself, but maybe I’m just so used to living in tiny spaces. When you walk in, there is a living room space complete with sofa, a chair and tv. There is a dining room table and a small kitchen that is fully equipped so you could cook if you were staying here.

The washroom is clean and fairly spacious. In the next room is the bed, which was very comfortable and lush. While the view left much to be desired, I wasn’t really coming here to enjoy the view from my hotel suite anyway.

I have to say that I appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel room – my last stay in the Okanagan was not as pleasant and I stayed somewhere that was more expensive than a stay here.

And yes, I got to walk into this cute little guy waiting for me.

As for amenities, the hotel offers free parking, a heated mineral indoor pool, outdoor hotubs, an area with free wireless and a courtyard for kids to play in. You also have daily breakfast which had a surprising amount of variety.

I’d definitely stay here again if I were coming back to Kelowna.
