We West Coasters are lucky in that a quick weekend vacation to Las Vegas can come relatively cheap. While it’s good and fun to check out the newest and fanciest of hotels – sometimes we head down to Vegas with very little sleep in mind! For the budget minded traveller or if this isn’t your first Vegas rodeo – here are my picks of the Top 5 Vegas Hotels/Resorts to stay at on a budget.
1. Planet Hollywood
3667 S Las Vegas Blvd
Planet Hollywood has some pretty good deals on a consistent basis, their accommodations are fine and enough space for a couple of friends or a family to stay in. It’s central and boasts the Miracle Mile – 1.2 miles of shopping heaven.
2. Bally’s
3645 S Las Vegas Blvd
Bally’s just went through some recent renovations, including the new Jubilee Tower. Their decor and accommodations have been updated to reflect modern tastes and again – super central to the Las Vegas strip.
3. Flamingo
3555 S Las Vegas Blvd
Flamingo is another hotel that has been around for a long time! It’s gone through some recent renovations and so the rooms are quite nice. There is also a wildlife habitat area and you’ll have a great view of the new High Roller. Flamingo is pretty central when it comes to the Las Vegas strip as well.
4. Monte Carlo
3770 S Las Vegas Blvd
Upgraded rooms that now reflect contemporary tastes, Monte Carlo is very central on the Las Vegas strip.
5. Excalibur
3850 S Las Vegas Blvd
While the decor seems to be trapped in the 80s, they do offer more contemporary tower rooms. But really, if you’re in your room just to sleep, then this hotel might be good for you. Although it’s closer to the southern part of the Las Vegas strip, it’s still a quick tram to Luxor and Mandalay and not too far a walk into the central part of the strip.
