Last week, I was invited to try Mallee Rock’s lineup of delicious wines that are now available throughout Western Canada and to experience some authentic Australian cuisine.

The red and white that was released are: Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 and Pinot Grigio 2014.

I really enjoyed the Pinot Grigio, it paired nicely with all the food we were being served that evening. The Pinot Grigio was refreshing with it’s slightly tart taste and citrus flavours. It leaves a nice taste in your mouth afterwards that’s quite smooth.

Sadly, I’m sensitive to red wine, so I didn’t get to try their Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon, but I’d imagine it’s as pretty easy drinking as their Pinot Grigio.

At a price point of $12.99 for their Pinot Grigio and $13.99 for the Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s definitely something I’d pick up when I want to bring a bottle of wine over for friends!

That’s not all folks – the good people at Mallee Rock and Chef Todd Bright gave us a couple recipes to try out and we will be making the Beef and Bacon Meat pies soon on our Youtube channel – stay tuned!
