The SportsBar is now open at Rogers Arena here in Vancouver! If you’re a big fan of sports or entertainment, you’ll know this is a welcome addition to the area. This is not your ordinary sports bar, it boasts over 14,000 square feet of space that includes a Player’s Lounge where you can rub elbows with your favourite players, a bar area that is the length of a NHL blue line (90 ft long!), the Trophy Room (a booth area that has it’s own 4K HD TVs) and..well generally a lot of 4k HD TVs around the area! There will also be a private area which is perfect for corporate and group events.
There’s one wall that houses hockey sticks from the greatest in the league (both past and present).
Executive Chef Robert Bartley introduced the line up of food – your favourite sports bar eats but elevated. Chef Bartley expressed his constant search for the best ingredients to go into each one of his dishes.
Some stand out items was definitely the gigantic wings they serve – breaded crispy but super tender on the inside, the Fish and Chips and Bartley’s Famous Hot Dog (a foot long beef hot dog wrapped in bacon!). I was impressed with the quality and taste of the food here.
The prices are a slightly higher than what you would find at a bar, but with the quality and the atmosphere, makes complete sense. It’s definitely worth starting your evening off here before going to a game or a concert.
How the SportsBar works is that you can purchase season tickets and sit in an area where you can watch the game with unrestricted views, but if you just want to come in for eats without a ticket, you can do that too; you’ll be able to hear and feel like you’re in the action but not see the ice.
