While Steveston is in no short supply of fish and chips, it seemed only right to have it when visiting. This particular visit, we decided to try Dave’s Fish and Chips – situated within Steveston Village a bit removed from the wharf madness that happens during the weekends.

What I like about Dave’s Fish and Chips is that they have a restaurant if you’d like sit down and eat, but also a grab-n-go counter in their parking lot. They also have some outdoor seating near that counter, so if you don’t want to deal with eating inside, you can either take it to go and sit at the docks or eat right outside.

Brian ordered the Halibut 2 piece Fish and Chips ($18.95) and I ordered the Cod 2 piece Fish and Chips ($15.95). When you order from their to-go counter, they wrap your meal tightly in paper which makes it easy to unwrap and have a nice area to eat from.

Each fish piece is rather large and I guess if I was feeling less hungry, one would’ve sufficed. The fish is breaded nicely – not overly breaded but with enough crunch to the batter that it doesn’t overtake the fish. The fish inside is nice and not at all dry. We were both pretty full from our meal and enjoyed it thoroughly after a day of walking around Steveston!
