One of our mornings was spent at Bruxie. We originally intended on having something ‘light’ before heading to the pool but…boy did that NOT happen!
Bruxie is a chain that serves up the iconic fried chicken and waffles but in sandwich form. They have some locations in the US, but in Las Vegas they’re located right outside of the New York New York Hotel.
We ordered the Holy Chicken! Made with Maple glazed chicken, Aplewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, sriracha and a sunny-side up egg. To pair with it, we ordered Angry Mac & Cheese and Fried Pickles as well.
The Holy Chicken! waffle sandwich was everything I ever wanted in a fried chicken and waffle dish. The chicken is tender in the inside with a crispy breading on the outside. The bacon, cheddar and egg helped to give more weight to this dish with it’s savoury tastes. Surprisingly, this dish was not overly salty but a harmonious mix of ingredients. The waffle is thinner than your typical Belgian waffle (think more like Eggo thin) – but it help up really well to all the items inside of it while staying nice and crispy at the beginning!
The Angry Mac and Cheese if seasoned with Buffalo-spiced cheese sauce and bacon. The bacon is formidable and the mac and cheese has a great, gooey texture to it. Not too angry, as it wasn’t too spicy at all.
The Deep Fried Pickles was one of my other favourite dishes – simply because I love deep fried pickles! They were big chunks of pickled deep fried in a crispy batter.
Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here at Bruxie and I would definitely eat here again!
