One of the more iconic summer activities is watching a baseball game. We are home to the Vancouver Canadians at Nat Bailey Stadium. The stadium is located conveniently right next to Queen Elizabeth Park, which is about a 5-10 minute drive from where I live. On certain days at the games they have fireworks which I get to enjoy from the comfort of home!

While most other stadium food options are limited and can barely be considered food,  Nat Bailey stadium has an interesting array of food available! Vancouver is  a known foodie city and you best believe our sports teams’ arenas and stadiums would serve up fantastic food.

Nat Bailey Stadium offers group and corporate experiences – two to note are the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver BBQ Picnic in the Park area that accommodates 30-400 people (an all you can eat buffet, where they continually churn out fresh food throughout the entire night) and the hey y’all! Porch for 30-200 people (which also offers a delicious all you can eat buffet).

Closer to the hey y’all porch is where you can find the infamous Yard-long hot dog, Tottine and Nat’s Bat.

Through the concourse, you can enjoy a large variety of sweet and savoury items including sushi, craft beer, foot long dogs, ice cream and so much more.

The newest items on the menu are the Tottine and Nat’s Bat.

Tottine

The Tottine is Chef Patrick Smith’s take on poutine made with long tater tots. The crispiness of each tot combined with the pulled pork, gravy and cheese curds are worth the trip out to Nat Bailey.

Nat’s Bat

The Nat’s Bat is a large turkey leg smoked for 5 hours and is fall-off-the-bone tender. The smokiness is very apparent in it and at first, I compared it to the large turkey leg you could get at Disneyland, but this is way better. Much more tender and flavourful.

Other items available at the Nat includes the nacho grande, brisket sandwich and of course, the yard long hot dog.

The Nacho Grande is topped with pulled pork, tomatoes, olives, pickled jalpaenos, sour cream, green onion, cheese and of course tortilla chips on the bottom. The portion is pretty generous!

Brisket and Pulled Pork Sandwich

The brisket sandwich is one of my favourites- it’s brisket and pulled pork on a bun . The brisket is smoked for 15 hours. Surprisingly,  the bun stands up just fine to the tender juices of both the brisket and pulled pork.

Yard Long Hot Dog

Finally, the show-stopper: the yard long hot dog. 3 ft of (what seems like) never ending dog and bun that you can deck out with ketchup, mustard, relish, hot peppers and more. It’s best to share with 2-3 friends, but definitely do-able by one (hungry) person!
