I’m sure I say this every year, but the time has flown by so fast! Here I am, Dec 30th, writing this post rounding up my favourite posts from the year. So, in no particular order, here are my fave posts I wrote this year:
1. Holiday Entertaining: Cheese and Meat Board made with Canadian Cheese
I loved putting this post together because it was getting closer the holidays and I got to use a lot of festive colours and put together a few of my favourite items onto these lovely boards!
2. 24 Hours in Toronto – Travel Vlog
Ok, so technically I spent more than 24 hours in Toronto, but sharing the sights, sounds and people of one of my favourite cities in the world meant a lot to me. Toronto will always be my second home, and it never ceases to surprise me in the changes every time I visit and how many things stay the same.
3. KURIOS Cirque du Soleil
I absolutely love watching live shows and I think I might start doing more reviews on the plays I go to. I’ve loved almost every single Cirque du Soleil show I’ve seen and KURIOS has got to be the best one I’ve seen so far.
4. Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery and Distillery, Niagara on the Lake
It’s still so amazing and humbling to me when I get emails asking me to fly to the other side of the country! I loved my short time at the Wayne Gretzky Estates, they really treated us well with the food and learning more about where their wines and whisky originates.
5. Seafood Squid Ink Pasta with Granville Island Brewery’s Mocha Porter
I’ve always wanted to make squid ink pasta and Halloween was the perfect time to create this mysterious, spooky dish! In the next year, I’d love to explore more recipes that push me to try new things.
6. 2017 Pagani Huayra Roadster + $250 million worth in cars!
I can’t say I’m a huge car aficionado, but I can definitely appreciate a well made and beautiful car. If there was any place to get a car fan’s imagination racing, it would be the Luxury and Supercar Weekend.
7. Day Trip to Othello Tunnels
My absolute favourite thing I’ve done this year is travelling with my friends. Travelling for the blog is a privilege, but having your friends and fellow bloggers with you makes it that much sweeter. One of my favourite day trips this year was to the Othello Tunnels – it was a beautiful but hot day.
8. Overwatch’s Junkrat Inspired Aussie Meat Pie
If you know me well, you know I love playing video games! One of my favourites at the moment is Overwatch and I thought it’d be fun to combine one of my favourite mains (Junkrat) and pay tribute to his motherland by making an Aussie Meat Pie.
9. Seattle in Pictures
Exploring Seattle in a day with Amy and Diana was one of the highlights of my year! We ate (a lot) and checked out some of the sights around the picturesque city.
10. Biggest Hot Dog Ever? – Nat Bailey Stadium Tour
I’ve been enjoying sharing my adventures via video this year and one of my favourites was the spread at Nat Bailey Stadium before the Vancouver Canadians’ game. I had THE BIGGEST hot dog I’ve ever seen and it was glorious.
11. Honolulu Vibes – Visuals of Honolulu
I will always love Hawaii and to share some of the shots I took during my recent trip there was fun!
12. Day Trip to Bowen Island
Nickie and I explored Bowen Island in a day with little Luca in tow! This serene island is the perfect spot if you want to escape the city for a day.
13. Kangaroo Creek Farm, Kelowna BC
I had NO idea that we had kangaroos here in BC (let alone Canada). When Diana told me there was a Kangaroo farm when we were heading up to Kelowna for a weekend, I was SO excited and it definitely did not disappoint!
14. Night Markets and Mothers’ Day Vlog
Another past time of us Vancouverites is eating at the local night markets – recently they’ve been really upping their game in terms of interesting items offered.
