I’ve put together a list of restaurants by price point that caught my interest this year. Let me know if there are any that you’re going to that didn’t make the list or you’re looking forward to!
$20 Dine Out Picks
Butcher & Bullock
If you’re looking for more homely, comfort food Butcher & Bullock offers fried chicken bits with buttermilk gravy, lamb shepherd’s pie with bourbon bbq gravy to name a few options!
Juke Fried Chicken
Juke Fried Chicken is a great place to have crunchy, but not too greasy fried chicken. If you haven’t checked it out yet, this is the perfect excuse to!
Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co.
Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. is a staple in the Vancouver scene, they offer up healthy items and are kid-friendly! Their portions are formidable and you never leave hungry! They also have lots of options for any and every diet restriction you may have.
Timber
If you’re a fan of Forage, you’ll have to check out Timber. Chef Chris Whittaker’s second restaurant consists of Canadian inspired dishes in a more relaxed atmosphere. I like how each day is a different entrée!
$30 Dine Out Picks
Chewies Steam & Oyster Bar
Chewies always has a formidable Dine Out menu and this year is no different.
Chicha
If you haven’t been to Chicha yet, get there stat! This Peruvian restaurant has delicious tapa-style food and killer cocktails.
Forage
Forage is always on my list of Dine Out choices simply because their menu is always so interesting and innovative. The atmosphere is cool and you get a beautiful meal served to you.
Cactus Club Café
Cactus Club Café is a Vancouver institution and if you’re looking for a place to please a crowd or different tastes, I’d suggest checking it out if you haven’t. At the price point of $30, their three course meal is worth it.
$40 Dine Out Picks
AnnaLena
If you haven’t been to one of the highest rated restaurants in Canada, now is the time to check them out. Their menu is interesting, but make reservations quick!
Chambar
Another restaurant that always is on my list, Chambar is one of my favourite places in the city – particularly for a cocktail! Their menu has great options!
La Mezcaleria
La Mezcaleria is perfect for a fun date night or gathering with friends. Their dishes are perfect for sharing and are always interesting!
Notch8 Restaurant
Notch8 is one of those restaurants you go to wow the person you’re going with. It’s beautifully designed (as it should be, since it’s in the Fairmont) and the service is attentive. The menu is intriguing and it’s definitely a place I’d like to check out.
