There’s a stretch of land in Richmond known as the Iona Jetty (or Iona Beach) that features a jetty that stretches 4 km (2.5 m) into the Straight of Georgia. It consists of a long drainage pipe and is a nice, easy walk. It’s mostly gravel and at the very end of the jetty, there’s a place where you can overlook the straight and take some nice photos (especially if you come during sunset!).

While you walk the long strip, you’ll be able to watch planes take off and land, which is pretty fun to watch. It can get pretty chilly and windy depending on what time of year you visit, so make sure to bring a hat and a jacket!
