In it’s third year, Glow in the Garden is a family friendly event during Halloween. Part of the garden is decorated each year in a theme – this year’s theme was Hansel and Gretel. You follow a path and the story of Hansel and Gretel throughout the garden, which leads you back to the other area where there are pumpkin carvings on display and a chance to take your picture with the witch and Hansel and Gretel themselves.
Overall, it’s a cute event – it’s on the small side so if you’re going with friends, you’ll walk around it in less than 10 minutes – but if you’re with kids, you might be there a tad longer.
There are a couple food stations including Truffles (their catering company), a popcorn stand, Japadog and Crab Park Chowdery. There is also an inside area for kids to do crafts, so there’s plenty to do if you’re a little kid! My baby is a little too young for the arts and crafts, but maybe next year or the year after he’d be more interested in it!
New this year are time slots where you can purchase your tickets for a specific time slot (4:30-6, 6-7:30, 7:30-9pm). The event runs from October 19-31 and you can purchase your tickets online or at the gate (it’s $1 more at the gate). Kids 2 and under are free, adults are $12.50, Seniors 65+ and Youth 13-18 are $10.50 and Kids 3-12 are $8.50.
