Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and whether you’re scrambling for something to give that special someone or you’re thinking about treating yo-self (cuz you’re worth it!), here are a couple ideas to get the ball rolling!
Haywire’s Gamay Noir Rose is probably my favourite rose and a fantastic way to liven up a home cooked dinner! The wine has a nice balance of sweetness and spice to it but still quite fresh. It pairs perfectly with fish or shellfish!
Chocolates are great, but these pillowy but crunchy macarons are perfect for the discerning foodie love in your life!
David’s Tea has this wonderful chocolate tea with candy red lips – such a cute gift for Valentine’s Day. The tea is made with black tea, vanilla, peppermint and chocolate bits and spicy red peppercorns.
Any sundae from this sweet throwback confectionary store would suffice, but my favourite is their Sweet & Salty Pretzel made with caramel pecan fudge and vanilla ice cream, house-made butterscotch (or peanut butter sauce) and crushed salty pretzels. To die for!
Sugar + booze? I love it. Sugarfina is the coolest place you pick up your favourite candies and they recently paired up with Tito’s Vodka to create this candy box that includes Tito’s American Mule Bears, Vodka Cordials and a mini mule mug (which you could fill with candy, or you know, booze!).
Eclairs are one of my favourite treats – a nice, crisp choux dough filled with a delicious and cool cream. L’Eclair de Genie elevates this popular French treat with flavours like rose gold powder, caramel cream, salted caramel and mascarpone and much more!
Beta 5 is best known for its delicious treats (cream puffs, ice cream sandwiches, etc) and during this time of year, they have Valentine’s Day specials including the “King of Spades Polygon Bar” made with 66% dark chocolate, chocolate cookie crumbs and white chocolate infused with coffee beans – makes it very tempting not to share!
