This past weekend was the BC Home + Garden Show at BC Place Stadium.
We specifically visited on Saturday afternoon, so that we – more specifically, my husband, could see Bryan Baeumler (Island of Bryan) speak.
His talk was pretty clearly the highlight of nearly everyone’s visit there that day as the seating area and everywhere surrounding it was packed long before he even graced the stage. He was joined on stage by a mortgage specialist and contractor. They gave some good advice and answered questions about building homes, cost/affordability and things to keep top of mind when building or renovating.
There were multiple stages with expert presenters on various topics – gardening, landscaping, home design, home renovations, home financing, cooking and baking. There were a couple people scheduled for the cooking stage that I would liked to have watched (The Dumpling King and Pink Ribbon Bakery) if the timing had worked out with my schedule…maybe next time!
The BC Home + Garden Show seems to offer everything that you could imagine wanting in your home or garden. There is something for everyone – clothing, food prep service (Hello Fresh), cable & internet (Shaw & Telus), cleaning supplies (Norwex), kitchen appliances (Midland and Trail), mattresses, gas fireplaces, artwork, furniture, bouncy castles – you name it.
If you’re looking for garden options, there is just as much: landscaping services, synthetic grass, yurts, patio furniture, barbecues, deck shades, gazebos, potted plants, jacuzzi’s and much more.
If you’re hungry, the food court has a pretty good variety of choices. Standard concession stand style food: burgers, fries, and hot dogs. For those looking for something a little different, options include gourmet mac-n-cheese, fish’n’chips, Indian (I opted for the lamb curry from Vij’s), Panini’s and artisan coffee.
If you’re looking for a one-stop shop for advice and ideas on anything home and/or garden related, the BC Home + Garden Show is a pretty good place to start.
