It seems like the hype train for bubble tea just keeps going – at first, it was all about customizations, then the introduction of black sugar, glass/reusable containers and premium ingredients. It’ll be interesting to see how else establishments will reinvigorate bubble tea in the years to come.
Boba Boy is one of the popular places that serve their bubble tea in cute, Instagram worthy containers. They’re also known for their fresh made tapioca available in stores.
Today I ordered Taro Milk Tea ($4.50) which you can customize (sweetness, ice and also the flavour of tapioca that can come with it). I originally wanted to get taro tapioca but it wasn’t available, so I went with coconut.
Overall, the milk tea was good – it was made from powdered taro (as most places). It’s good, but whether it’s worth the price along with the special container (which, by the way, you don’t have to get) – is still up for debate.
