There’s a new bakery on the Drive and it’s serving not only baked goods but also a great array of breakfast and lunch items.
I started off with the Blueberry Vanilla Danish ($4.75), the danish is flaky, buttery with this great flavour from the blueberry and vanilla centre.
I ordered their Polenta made with local mushrooms, a poached egg and pesto ($12). I’m normally not a fan of polenta, but Livia Bakery has made me a believer. The polenta is generously decorated with marinated mushrooms that add an earthy, slightly nutty flavour to the polenta and the poached egg gives it a bit more weight to it. The pesto is a nice green pop of flavour and colour and works well with all the ingredients overall.
I’m definitely coming back for more very soon! I also have to mention this place is quite a hot spot for moms – including myself!
