I came here recently with a coworker to grab some lunch. They recently switched up some of their menu, so you’ll find some brunch items on their lunch menu – including their Chicken and Waffles which of course caught my eye.
Their Chicken N’Waffle ($16.95) is made with fried chicken, a sunny side up egg, crispy garlic, shallots and furikake on an Ube waffle. You’ve also got some pickled, slightly spicy and tangy items on top (bean sprouts, carrots) which added to the crunch of this dish. The flavour overall was interesting, as it isn’t like anything I have ever tasted before. The chicken marinade almost tasted adobo-like in a salty/sour kind of way. The chicken comprised of a couple of pieces as well (all white meat). The egg added to the heartiness and like I had mentioned, the pickled veggies on top give it another dimension in flavour. If you’re looking for the sweet, salty, spicy and garlicky experience that Filipinos are known for, you’ll find it in this waffle. Speaking of the waffle, it was quite enjoyable – slightly chewy (as would be expected with ube) and a good flavour but not too overwhelming.
I’d definitely like to come back and try the other dishes here.
