After wrapping up one of the most meaningful experiences of my writing life—the Lambda Literary Retreat—I wanted to celebrate with intention. I heard that Nook had a new location in Coal Harbour, and I’m a fan of the North Vancouver location. For my quiet and restful celebration, Nook was exactly the place to reflect and stretch out the happiness that followed my retreat.

We began with the Cashew Kale Salad, layered with creamy cashew dressing, crispy chickpeas, and sharp Valentine radish. Then came the Whipped Ricotta Crostini—light as air, kissed with honey, topped with toasted hazelnuts.

The Rigatoni alla Vodka was pure comfort: al dente pasta in a silky tomato-vodka sauce, bright with basil and finished with grana padano. A dish that’s both familiar and elevated.

We shared a Soppressata Pizza, brimming with salumi, briny sun-dried olives, and stracciatella, tied together with the sweet heat of hot honey. With it, a glass of Degani Valpolicella Classico—a rustic, earthy red that paired beautifully across dishes.

To finish: an Espresso alongside a Pistachio and White Chocolate Parfait, layered with passionfruit brightness and shortbread crumble for texture.

For cocktails, the Limoncello Spritz was a bright, effervescent delight, blending Luxardo Limoncello with sparkling Prosecco. The Paper Plane offered a deeper, more complex note—bourbon, Aperol Amaro, and lemon balanced into a drink that felt both playful and sophisticated.

I would definitely come back to try other dishes, and celebrate other milestones with loved ones. The service was fantastic, and our waitress was so helpful and we actually connected over conversation. I learnt that Oddfish and Radish are also sister restaurants, which I did not know prior!
