Birthday Parties at Science World are BACK! We recently had Winston’s 7th birthday party there and I thought it might be helpful to share my experience, as it was hard to find any details (other than on their website) about other families and their experience.

First off, the platform to book and the people I spoke to were super friendly and accommodated many of my questions. I felt this year was an “easier” one in terms of planning, since Science World is pretty much plug and play.

There were two science leaders who greeted our group when we arrived – while we waited for others, the kids could explore the nearby exhibits. Finally, we were led into the birthday room, a nice, spacious and clean area overlooking False Creek. The space is lightly decorated too, so you don’t have to worry about that as well.

Our science leaders kept the party on the timeline it needed to be on, which I appreciated greatly.

We started off with a few experiments and some of Winston’s classmates were able to participate in them. The most exciting one seemed to be the Van De Graaf Generator, where the kids could put their hands on the metal ball and their hair would stand up. The kids were great listeners and participated in many of the questions our science leaders asked.

A little while later, our food from Triple O’s came and they had an efficient system to distribute the food to our guests. They were even able to accommodate some last minute guests and add their orders too.

During cake time – we were grateful that they had a fridge to store our cake and took it out for us. They also helped cut the cake after and distribute to all the kids.

There was never once I felt rushed or out of place, and all the kids had a great time. One of the best perks of having your birthday at Science World is being able to check out the exhibits after the party, so you get the whole day full of wonder and excitement! The birthday child also gets a $10 gift voucher for the gift store (which Winston used promptly!).

Again, I was really impressed with the hospitality and patience our science leaders had, our entire party had a wonderful time and I would definitely host another birthday if Winston wanted to do it again!
