Delfino’s is a Chicago style, deep-dish pizza restaurant in the heart of University Village in Seattle. The space is clean and has nice family-style decor to make you feel pretty comfortable. Delfion’s creates its dough and sauces daily in house and then adds delicious fresh ingredients in their authentic oven (that they shipped all the way from Chicago).

As we had been eating all day, we decided to share a small deep dish pizza amongst the three of us. A lot of people are concerned about not being able to finish a whole pizza, but thankfully at Delfino’s you can order in different sizes ranging from a 1 person deep dish to one that feeds 5 people.

We ordered the Delfino’s Special ($23.60 for a small deep dish – sausage, mushrooms, sauteed onions, green peppers, mozza and their home made tomato sauce).

So, this isn’t the Delfino’s Special – whoops! They gave us the wrong pizza but they corrected it right away and took away this pizza, but not before we tried it out. The sauce is nice and sweet, slightly tart and the cheese was just heavenly. It was about 1-2 bites in that we realized this wasnt our pizza (it didn’t have any of the fillings!).

Finally, the Delfino’s Special came and it had all the good stuff in the middle. I would’ve loved to see more tomato sauce in this pizza because it gave it that delicious taste. Otherwise, the pizza was filling and had a good amount of toppings. The crust is buttery and flakey and a meal on its own!

At Delfino’s they have other items like sandwiches and appetizers, but I would definitely recommend checking out their deep dish pizzas. The pricing is fair for this great experience.
