The Lotus Leaf Sticky Rice ($8) is a mix of Forbidden rice, shitake mushroom, chicken, shrimp, Chinese sausage, duck egg yolk and then wrapped and steamed in a lotus leaf. This is one of our favourite staples when we go for dim sum and this was a nice, tasty version. It’s a good portion, about the same you would find at any dim sum restaurant and perfect to share.

The Prawn, Pork and Tobiko Siu Mai ($8) are a classic dim sum dish and done quite well here! The flavours work well and are steamed to perfection.

The Crystal Prawn Dumplings (or Ha Gau – $9) is one of my favourite dishes during dim sum and is my litmus test on how good a dim sum place is. Here, the prawn is fresh and tasty with a good portion in the middle and the outside still has a bit of snap and again, steamed to perfection.

We tried the Classic Chicken Dumpling and Classic Flavour Bomb Dumpling ($8, $10 respectively).

The chicken dumpling is made with chicken and mushroom while Flavour Bomb is made with lamb and dill.

I don’t typically see a lot of lamb items on dim sum menus so this was a very interesting and welcome addition to traditional dim sum fare! I liked the flavour (it’s not too gamey and the dill punches it up a bit). Also their chili vinegar dressing is amazing, I finished it off wish I had a whole bottle of it.

Up next is the Crystal Scallop and Pea Tip Dumpling ($12) – the scallop was flavourful and fresh and I liked the addition of the tobiko on top for more of a Ocean-like flavour.

Finally, the desserts! The Portuguese Egg Tart ($7) was to. die. for! Their perfect 2 bite tarts with flaky, buttery goodness.

The Black Sesame Ball ($7) were great, not too greasy and had the perfect amount of black sesame paste in the middle.

Finally, the Salted Egg Yolk Bun ($7) – everyone’s favourite flavour at the moment, you will not be disappointed here.

When you crack open these visually appealing buns, you’ll be treated to ooey-gooey-goodness – a well balanced mix of salty and sweet flavours.

I definitely would recommend checking out their dim sum menu (along with their BBQ and other items on the menu) – they’re the perfect treat when you’re craving dim sum at any time of the day!

Next time, I’m going to try their Truffle Prawn & Pork Siu Mai, XO XLB Dumplings and BBQ Pork Buns!
