Hilltop Diner Cafe is a small diner located in Langley, BC. On our way to Othello Tunnels, we made a pit stop here for breakfast. This place is very busy, so expect a wait when you arrive. The diner has some cool signs, actor signatures and photographs around the entire diner, so you’ll have plenty to look at as you wait for your food.

hilltop diner tex mex omelette

Diana ordered the Tex Mex Omelette ($13), filled with peppers, sausage, TexMex cheese and of course, three eggs sandwiched in between some toast, fresh salsa and hash browns.

hilltop diner hot sauce

We were also given three hot sauces that are made locally in the Okanagan and contain…no…hot…peppers! What? Crazy. They were tasty and had a nice amount of heat on them.

hilltop diner hilltop breakfast

I ordered the Hilltop Breakfast ($13), which comes with three eggs, farmer sausage, baked beans, toast and hashbrowns. I was NOT prepared for how big it was! The eggs were great over easy and the sausage were crispy on the outside to give the dish a bit more variation in texture. My favourite part of the dish was definitely the hashed browns – its crispy on the outside with smashed potatoes but had a creamier, smoother texture in the inside, similar to mashed potatoes. I don’t know how they do this but it was heavenly! If you’re hungry, you definitely want to get this breakfast.

The wait is a little long for the food once we ordered it, but I knew this going in, reading other reviews and some waiting signs on the way into the diner. The wait is worth it though. I would definitely recommend checking them out and I will be back again!
