Paying homage to the golden years, Notch8 celebrates Hotel Vancouver’s 80th anniversary with popular cocktails from different decades. The cocktails are available until September 1st, $16 but $8 during Happy Hour (daily, 3-6pm).

You can enjoy the following:

1939 – Bee’s Knees: a simply delicious cocktail made with Botanist Gin, lemon juice and honey

1949 – The Mai Tai: After World War II, interest in anything Hawaiian was trendy. The Mai Tai was originally created by Victor Bergeron at Trader Vic’s in California and supposedly became so famous it depleted world rum supplies! The Mai Tai at Notch8 is perfectly balanced with sweet notes.

1959 – The Harvey Wallbanger.  Coined after surfer Tom Harvey who used to come into a bar and got so drunk that he ran into the walls. Made with vodka, orange juice and Galiano – it’s a good way to enjoy a sweet drink after work.

1969 – The Manhattan. This classic is made with rye, red Vermouth, and a dash of Angostura bitters. Always a great choice.

1979 – Long Island Iced Tea. You wont find any tea in this at all, but you WILL find gin, vodka, Cointreau, rum, lemon juice and topped with Coke – perhaps it’s appearance that gives it it’s name.

1989 – The Cosmopolitan. Another classic made popular by Sex and The City, you’ll find this pink refreshing drink made with vodka, Cointreau, lime juice and cranberry juice.

1999 – The Cable Car . Made with spiced rum, Cointreau, lemon juice, simple syrup, it’s shaken and strained into a chilled coupe glass rimmed with cinnamon sugar.

2009 – The Penicillin. Feeling under the weather? This drink will definitely wake you up. It’s a smoky mix of blended Scotch, lemon juice, honey ginger syrup and single malt scotch.

2019 – The Copper Griffin.  Hotel Vancouver’s signature drink is a nod to it’s green cooper roof and gargoyles.  It’s made with Victoria Gin, Dubonnet, Lillet, lemon juice, and simple syrup, the copper coloured concoction is topped with lemon meringue foam.
