May 11 is McHappy Day at McDonalds – where proceeds of the food purchased that day will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

If you’re unfamiliar with the RMHC, they provide a place for families to stay while their children receive treatment at the local children’s hospital. In an average year, RMHC houses 26,000 families close to their child in the hospital. There are 16 Ronald McDonald Houses and 17 Family Rooms that are available right inside hospitals.

You can support the cause by ordering at the restaurant, through drive-thru, the McDonald’s app or McDelivery via your favourite delivery service. Leading up to the day, you can also purchase a McHappy Day heart for $2.

McDonalds also teamed up with Peace Collective for a limited-edition collection of apparel featuring our favourite McDonaldland characters. A portion of the proceeds will go right back to the RMHC. You can purchase them until May 11 on their website here: https://www.peace-collective.com/collections/mcdonalds.
