mello is Vancouver’s latest donut joint. Located in Chinatown, you’ll find brioche-type donuts here filled with different flavours from classics like lemon and jam, to more interesting ones (tiramisu, strawberries and cream).
Each donut is lightly sprinkled with sugar and is tender, airy and puffy. The creams have a good depth to them in terms of sweetness, without being overly indulgent. It’s fairly easy to eat more than 1 or 2 of these filled donuts.
A donut here will run you from $3.75+ with Tiramisu and Matcha being the more expensive ones. A dozen will run you $42.
Overall, mello is a welcome addition to the donut craze in Vancouver and perfect for those who like their donuts on the airy side.
