I am back! I know I haven’t been writing much in the past couple weeks, but I’ve been pretty sick at home and I’ve only started feeling better in the last couple of days. I’m also playing with a new lens – when it works, it works beautifully – but unfortunately, I’m still learning how to get the best shots out of it. That being said, I haven’t been 100% confident with my shots in the past couple weeks, but it’s a learning curve and the only way to get better is to continue shooting with it. I’m going to own it and master it, but in the mean time – I apologize for the wonky images!

What was once a pop-up has now found a permanent place to call home: Monarch Burger is now open at The American. If you’re a burger lover – you’ll want to put this on your to do list: Their burgers are ridiculous. They’re sloppy and everything you’ve ever wanted in a burger.

Choose from their hamburgers, cheeseburgers, double cheeseburgers, veggie burgers and grilled cheese. They’ve got sides of course including fries, poutine and a kale caesar salad.

Each burger’s beef is aged for 45 days – and you can definitely tell the difference in taste. We had our burger extra sloppy by adding bacon and and egg to our double cheeseburger. If you’re in the area, check out their $12 burger-and-beer special between 5-7pm daily.

If this isn’t enticing enough, you’ll want to check out The American – the pub that the Monarch Burger is situated in that includes pool, pinball and arcade games (and yes, they have a Game of Thrones pinball machine!). I love the look of this pub, it’s long and open with many communal tables, but there are more comfortable booths for patrons to enjoy.
