Unassuming and lowkey, Nobi Nobi Obanzai serves up delicious Japanese fare in Richmond.
We came during a weekend lunch and they were quite busy – the restaurant is smaller with a couple tables only. For my visit, I ordered the Salmon Course Meal ($17.75 at time of writing this) which comes with rice, miso and pickled vegetables.

Every component of my lunch had a nice flavour to it without being too overpowering. The pickled veggies and salad/cabbage was nice for a hot summer day. The salmon and rice was a great portion, flavourful and fresh. I also ordered their strawberry soda, which I was worried would be too sweet – but was surprisingly refreshing and not too sweet at all.

I would definitely come back to try their other items, but most likely would drop by on a weekday when it’s less busy!
