Porteau Cove, Squamish, BC

On the way up the Sea to Sky highway to Whistler is Porteau Cove. A quiet an peaceful look out into Howe Sound. It’s a bit easy to miss the turnoff point, but go a little slower and you’ll find it. What’s remarkable about Porteau Cove and the surrounding area is the mountains that surround them.

Looking out into Howe Sound, you can see Anvil Island and Gambier Island close by, and if you turn yourself around, you’re surrounded by a couple of the mountains including Brunswick mountain and Sky Pilot mountain.

I think part of the charm that Porteau Cove and BC’s coast line has is the fact the sightline of water, to trees to mountains, all sweeping upwards. Of course the colours (depending on the time of year you visit) change and make a for beautiful and natural palette.

Porteau Cove is less than an hour away from Vancouver, it’s definitely worth the drive up!
