Ramen Jinya has recently expanded into Kerrisdale. The space is nice with the exposed brick and dark wood. We came during dinner on a Friday night and didnt have to wait too long for a seat- I have a sneaking suspicion its because it was almost 30 degrees!
I ordered the Jinya Black, their signature bowl. $12
The broth is nice, thick and not too salty. I noticed they didnt give too much broth, and my dining partner ordered extra noodles, so he had even less broth at the end.
The cha siu was good, tender and a mix of fatty and meaty. It wasnt too over salty. They give 2 slices, so if you’re hungry, you’ll want to order extra.
The noodles are not over done and still have a nice snap to them.
I also ordered the iced green tea which you can get unsweetened or sweetened. I really enjoyed the unsweetened version, not entirely sure why but it’s really refreshing!
