ZenQ (a sister company of Chatime) opened up recently in my neighbourhood, so I thought I’d go check them out. We walked in and after we had ordered, they informed us there was no ice for our drinks. I didn’t think it was a problem because for the most part, I order my drinks with 30% ice anyway.

I ordered a Lychee Black Tea. It was still so warm and very odd to have in a cold cup. I think if they had told us they could only make it hot and put it into a hot cup, I’d feel better about having it.

Nathalie ordered a Strawberry Black Tea – also, still hot and weird to have in a cold cup.

We decided to try one of their desserts as well – we went with the Fresh Fruit Waffle Platter. The waffles were good, crisp and there was a good portion of fruits on the plate. The ice cream and whipped cream was a great way to top it all off.

Overall, if I wanted to get bubble tea, I’d probably head over to Chatime, just one skytrain stop away, or go over to Coco Fresh Tea which is right beside it. The desserts are ok, but nothing really worth the trip.
