Where Gastown meets Chinatown, you’ll find Iktsuarpok Coffee Stand. An intriguing spot, given the location and the method – you order through a window and take it to go.
Shop owners Rika and Kento have been working hard to keep up with the demand – particularly for their matcha latte.
The menu is straight forward – there are three drinks: black, white, green. Black is their version of an Americano, white is a latte and green is their Matcha latte. You can also order drip coffee as well.
I ordered the Matcha latte ($4.50) – their Matcha comes straight from Kyoto and seems to be one of their best sellers as they ran out the week before we visited. The Matcha is rich, aromatic and slightly sweet – not at all bitter. It’s a lovely taste and because we love our matcha, it was nice to have a quality one served to us! A lot of love and dedication goes into each cup, as we could tell while we waited.
Rika popped her head out to find out how we found out about them and a little bit about us. They’re both really nice and I’m glad they’re bringing a great product to the area. I can’t wait to visit again!
