As the holidays are fast approaching, sometimes it calls for impromptu dinners/entertaining and there is no better way to juggle that, pick ups at school and working than to use some of the President’s Choice meals. Every year, PC comes up with their Insider’s Report that drops right before holiday season and I love going through the report to see what’s new and what’s come back from last year.
So, starting with my favourite part of meal – dessert – I’m sharing a few of my favourites – old and new from PC.

Chocolate Northern Spanish-Style Basque Cheesecake – Last year, we tried the plain version of this but chocolate version takes the literal cake. It’s not too sweet or bitter, and just as any other Basque style cheesecake, you’ll find a firm crust but creamy middle.

Santa’s Milk and Cookies Ice Cream – I love ice cream even in the winter, and when you combine it with cookie chunks and chocolate, you can definitely count me in. What’s even better is the $5 price tag.
PC Sticky Toffee Pudding – An English classic, this version is just as delicious with just the right amount of toffee on the butter sponge cake – I’d definitely pair it with some vanilla ice cream!
For a quick dinner, I love these ones – they’re a great blend of good flavour and value. We have one of these at least once a week in our rotation!

- PC Homestyle Chicken Pot Pie
- PC Flavour Explosion Calabrian Chilli and Cheese Stuffed Gnocchi
- PC Chicken Bulgogi Hot Maki
- PC Black Label Spinach Premium Pizza

And for more of an upscale meal, the PC Porchetta is great – put this in your sandwich or serve it with your favourite starch (roast potatoes and sweet yams are my family favourites). Use your broil function to get that signature crispy skin that everyone loves in a good porchetta.
If turkey is more of your vibe, try the PC Stuffed Turkey Breast Roast – it’s got a great cranberry stuffing and is juicy throughout.
What items do you keep in your rotation for this time of year?
