Taste of Yaletown is back for it’s 14th year running from October 18-28th at the $25, $35 and $45 tiers.To commemorate the event, Yaletown will be making a donation to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Taste of Yaletown has raised over $115,000 to support the local community since the first ToY in 2004.
All the old favourites are participating, but here are, in no particular order, my top picks for Taste of Yaletown this year:
Fayuca ($35)
What I really enjoy when it comes to dining festivals such as Taste of Yaletown is an interesting menu selection. Fayuca fuses Pacific Northwest flavours with Mexican dishes. For example: Grilled cactus with Halloumi cheese and a charred salsa verde. Yum!
Flying Pig ($35)
Flying Pig is always one of my staples for dining festivals, as they’re always consistently good and their plates are picked right from their menu.
Bistro Sakana ($45)
When it comes to Japanese food, Vancouver’s got the best the West Coast has to offer.
La Pentola ($45)
La Pentola is one of the most beloved pasta joints in the city, but their duck breast served with cassis and sour cherry sounds just as fantastic.
Provence Marinaside ($45)
With selections like frog legs, a classic bouillabaisse and lamb stewed in wine – this is definitely caught my eye.
Rodney’s Oyster House ($45)
Rodney’s is always a good time with friends and with their Seafood Boil for two, it’s a messy good fun.
WildTale ($45)
Nothing says West Coast than a menu thats almost all seafood – but no fear if you’re not too big a fan – there is a duo of lamb available as well on their menu.
