Banh Mi Saigon is a Vietnamese shop that serves up banh mi (Vietnamese subs), desserts and drinks located on Victoria Drive. While there is ample seating, I would say it’s best to get your food to go. What I do like is that they have their sandwich making game down to a science, you’re not waiting very long for your sandwich to be made.

There’s ten different types of sandwiches to choose from and they range from $5-$5.50 in price.

Today I ordered the Dac biet – Special for $5.50. I find that this sandwich is longer than most places. The baguette is perfectly crispy on the outside but still soft and chewy on the inside. There is a good amount of filling inside, not overwhelming but enough to balance out the bread and meat ratio. This is perfect for a hungry person or for sharing.

I also ordered the Cafe Sua da – Ice condensed milk coffee ($3.50). While it’s not the strongest I’ve had, it’s not bad – not too sweet.

We also ordered Pate Chaud (the woman at the till insisted I get more than one, and I was more than happy to oblige). The inside is meaty, slightly salty, the outside is crisp, buttery and flaky. Very delicious and worth a try, especially if it’s your first time here.
