This recipe is my own rendition of my dad’s, who makes it completely perfect.
You’ll Need:
Beef steak – anything works, just as long as you can slice it thin.
1 onion (medium – large)
Soy Sauce
Water
Lemon or Lemon Juice
What you’re going to do first is pour 1 part soy sauce, 1 part water and about half a cup of lemon juice into the pan.
With your steak, slice it up into cubes or into thin pieces so it’ll be able to cook quick. Put the steak into the pan and heat until it’s simmering.
Slice up the onions into rings. At this point, I suggest you try a little bit of your sauce and see if you like the ratio of soy sauce to lemon juice. The taste should be a good balance between salty and lemony.
Now, drain the sauce into a bowl and set aside.
Add a bit of oil and cook the beef.
Throw in the onions and cook the onions to either translucent or to ‘crunchy but cooked’ – depending on how you like your onions!
Add the sauce back in and heat for another 2 minutes.
Serve with rice and enjoy!
