I have to say that there are so many places to eat in Yaletown but when it comes to lunch, Boulangerie is one of my favourite places. With it’s almost patriotic blue walls to cupboards filled with old world tea and coffee presses, I truly feel like I’m in France. And similar to many French cafes, they have sandwiches, soups, salads and a great assortment of sweets for after!
My sister and I come here every so often – mostly because I used to live in the area, but today it was an after yoga treat.
She ordered a coffee – I didn’t get to ask her how it was.
We both ordered the same thing – a small panini (Italian proscuitto, swiss, lettuce and tomato) with soup (Cream of Cauliflower today). This lunch combo is $7. I was definitely full after, I can’t imagine how big a “large panini” is.
There are many varieties of sandwiches, but this one is my favourite. While it’s nothing too special, it’s a healthier, cheaper and quicker alternative to many of the restaurants around Yaletown.
Food:
Okay so, panini’s aren’t really French, but sandwiches are decent sized and the soups are fairly good.
Service:
The service is prompt, waiting for your sandwich to grill takes a couple minutes so make sure to factor that in if you’re in a rush.
Value:
It isn’t the best bang for your buck, but I think it’s cheaper alternative than eating at a restaurant or a coffee shop nearby.
