Fraser Valley Food Show 2014

The 7th Annual Fraser Valley Food Show was from October 3-5 at Tradex in Abbotsford, BC. From Oktoberfestivities including a sausage competition complete with beer, great workshops from BC Cheese and from local celebrity chefs including Chef Ned Bell of the Yew – there was a lot of great things to check out. While not as huge as say, EAT! Vancouver, I found the Fraser Valley Food Show to be more welcoming, many vendors took the time to chat with me about their products and even at the Sausage competition, the producers took their time to chat with us as well.

I was happy to meet a lot of producers out that way and get to try their delicious wares, some that you should check out:

chocolaTAS – delicious chocolates!

Fire Belly Sauce Company – They make a great selection of different hot sauces and hot is actually pretty hot!

Beast & Brine – one of the competitors in the Sausage making competition also owns a restaurant in Surrey!

Sedo’s Old Fashion Butcher – one of our favourites in the Sausage making competition.

Dressed to Grill – They had one of our favourite pepperoni sticks!

Black Forest Delicatessen – they were the last booth in the Sausage making competition but definitely one of the best! They had a delicious liver pate which (obviously!) won the People’s Choice Award!

Congratulations Black Forest, I’ll have to come visit them real soon!
