When it comes to restaurants, cafes and any food establishment – the experience is definitely a big thing for me. But when I say experience – I don’t mean a server at your beck and call, but more so the atmosphere. There have been many dives where I’ve found interesting experiences too. I love places that give you the experience of stepping into a completely different place or time era. Glenburn Soda is definitely one of those places in Vancouver that make you feel like you’ve stepped out of the future and back into the sweet confection, fountain soda era with poodle skirts, panty hose, slicked back hair and arguably one of the best decade of music.
Since Brian and I were fairly full from our lunch, we only could stomach a slice of pie and a scoop of ice cream – both of which were fantastic. The apples in my apple pie were stacked a plenty and it had a great taste of cinnamon to it. The pie crust is what I loved most about this. The ice cream was nice and sweet to pair with the pie.
We’ll have to come back to try the Egg Cream, Malts and Sundaes for sure!
