The resort is located at the very end of the strip on the southern side, but it’s connected by a tram to Luxor and Excalibur.
Our room was freshly cleaned – so much so that the carpet was still damp for most of the first day there. Our room was nice, everything that comes pretty standard was all there – tv, desk, hall mirror. The bathroom was big, with a his and hers sink area, bathtub, shower and a private toilet area.
The double beds are good, a bit on the lumpy side. My pillow was also still a bit dirty with strands of hair that were not mine. But I replaced them with the extra pillows in the closet.
Mandalay Bay is a huge property – it has a casino, convention area, a small food court area with a buffet and restaurant and it also has an aquarium and shops closer to the convention area. While not as shiny and new as the younger resorts, it does well for what it needs to be – a place to lay your head when you’re exhausted.
Room: 2.5
While the bathroom was quite nice, I felt like our room was just okay. The dirty pillows and unknown red splotches on our ceiling was kind of unwelcoming.
Value: 3
For what we paid for MB during the off season, it wasn’t so bad.
Ambiance: 3
The overall ambiance and look of the resort was nice, very expansive.
