Starting January 15th, Dine Out Vancouver is back for it’s 14th season – having 288 restaurants to choose from. There are three price points: $40, $30 and $20 most of being offered for dinner but several with lunch options.

But Dine Out doesn’t stop there – there are many different experiences happening during the festival that you need to check out too – check out a future post for more information!

In the mean time, I’m sharing some restaurants that I’d recommend at different price points. This curated list offers different flavours and ingredients if you’re tired of the same roast chicken and salmon offerings in past festivals. I am looking forward to checking out some of these out on my own! Let me know if you have any favourite restaurants!

Here are my top picks for Dine Out Vancouver 2016:

Top Choices for $40

Ancora Waterfront
It looks as though I’m digging multicultural menus this year, and what could be any more aligned than Ancora – a Peruvian and Japanese fusion restaurant.

Arc Restaurant – The Fairmont Waterfront
I adore restaurants that take a risk during Dine Out to not offer the same typical fare as everyone else – and I think Arc nails it with grilled pacific octopus and their Caveman grain bowl!

Chambar
I’ve always had a wonderful and elevated experience at Chambar, and I’d imagine it always will be that way. Their moules frites congolaise sounds fantastic.

Juniper
A recently opened restaurant – they’re doing some interesting things on their menu: elk empanada and a vegan peanut butter nanaimo bar? Sounds fantastic to me.

L’Abattoir
L’Abattoir is one of my favourite spots in the city – their offerings this year set the bar high for their competition. Loving the grilled squid stuffed with pork and chicken and foie gras galantine offerings!

Miku
I say this every year, but if you’ve ever wanted to check out Miku and get a real taste of their menu – their Miku Zen box is where you should start.

Top Choices for $30

Chewies Steam & Oyster Bar
Chewies had me at Chicken and Waffles – mic drop.

Chicha
If you’re looking for some Peruvian flavours, Chicha represents. All their menu items (and there are a lot – just check it out) sound fabulous – do you think they’d mind if I started with dessert?

Cuchillo
In the same vein as Peruvian food, why not try out some great Latin American tapas? Life is too short to figure out whether you’re having the roasted chicken or salmon at another Dine Out restaurant…

Forage
I absolutely love Forage. They deliver with their menu – I see a lot of favourites here from recent years and I am perfectly fine with that! I’ll be back for that Pork Belly and Crackling.

Maenam
Another love of mine. You really can’t go wrong with any of their menu items, they’re all fabulous. If you’re feeling adventurous, I suggest trying their Royal Set Menu!

The Oakwood Canadian Bistro
The Oakwood does brunch so well, they do dinner just as great. What caught my eye: smoked ham hock orecchiette with shemiji mushrooms and buttermilk fried chicken, endive and pear salad!

Top Choices for $20

Clough Club
Come here for the atmosphere and drinks. They have some interesting items on their menu as well: Pig’s Head croquette and lamb merguez sausage. Definitely not for the faint of heart!

Gyoza Bar
Try their gyozas and shio ramen.

The Reef
What better way to think you’re in the sun during the winter time than going for Caribbean cuisine (yeah…that’s a bit of a stretch, but I tried). Caribbean food is fun and delicious – and there is something about their corn bread that is highly addictive.
