The newest Nando’s location is now open in Richmond. Sitting within the new Central at Garden City, this beautifully decorated Nando’s features art from South African artists and the earthy tones you’d find at any Nando’s. If you’re like me, you know that Nando’s is all about it’s chicken and PERi-PERi sauce. What you might not know is that the chicken is flame-grilled Portuguese style but blended with African Birds Eye Chilli sauce (PERi-PERi). The first Canadian restaurant opened in Richmond back in 1994 and now has grown to many more locations in BC and Ontario.
The main attraction at Nando’s is indeed their chicken that is marinated for 24 hours and flame-grilled. Prices are pretty affordable for chicken and are created either for one serving or served family-style (share platters). Additionally, they have some vegetarian, sandwich and a couple salad options.
Their side dishes are addictive – especially the PERi-PERi fries and the slightly sweet an creamy hearty coleslaw.
