As you probably know already, I am a fan of coconut water – as I feel that it can replace sugary ‘energy’ drinks like Gatorade/Powerade and provide way more electrolytes to replenish them after a workout. In fact, I prefer sipping on coconut water during hot yoga or afterwards to replenish.
That being said, coconut water is not everyone’s cup of tea. I think it’s partially because most believe that it’ll be sweet and savoury, similar to coconut milk. The water is slightly sweet.
Coconut water is made with fresh young (green) coconuts with a slightly cloudy appearance. The taste is not the coconut you may be expecting in a pina colada, but moreso a young coconut you may have sipped when in the tropics.
Coconut water has some great qualities including being used as transfusions in developing countries! Try it as an alternative to an energy drink or an alternative to water or milk in your smoothies. Also as a substitute for when you’re making fresh almond milk!
I was sent two free O.N.E. Coconut Water paks to try, I was not obligated or paid to write a review.
