I often miss New York. It’s been years since I’ve been, but it leaves it’s mark on you. The hustle and bustle, the eclectic neighbourhoods, the fashion and of course – the food.

While there’s a large list of must eats in New York, I would say pizza is something you definitely have to try when you’re down there. If you can’t make it to New York City, you get the next best thing here in Vancouver – Straight Outta Brooklyn Pizzeria.

This small pizzeria located right across the library serves up pizza by the slices (you can also buy the whole pie). It made the most sense to me to try the pepperoni and it didn’t disappoint. Just look at all that pepperoni on my one slice of pizza! The crust is nice and thin, and there’s just enough cheese without it taking too much real estate from the pepperoni.

While not the cheapest pizza slice you can purchase in the city, I’m still okay with the price point at $3.50/slice (for the pepperoni). I would take this pizza over those random corner pizza places any day. In fact, I’d take this pizza over most in Vancouver any day and that’s saying a lot.
