I’ve been recently making it a point to visit more food trucks. The problem is I barely am downtown during the weekdays during lunch time, otherwise it might become more of a regular thing!

This particular experience was with Tacofino (the Orange truck right outside the Sears near the Art Gallery). It was a very beautiful and hot summer day, right smack dab in the middle of lunch time so there was a bit of a wait.

My mom and I decided to split the Fish Taco ($4.50) and their special free-range Chicken. The Fish Taco is deliciously battered ling cod with chipotle mayo, shredded cabbage and salsa fresca. If you’re a big fan of battered fish tacos (which, I have to admit I never was up until recently) – look no further. This is by far the best battered fish tacos in the city. Fresh, crispy and over flowing with toppings – this one taco alone could fill you up.

The special was free-range organic chicken that has been marinated. It was so amazingly flavourful as well. This one was more simple than the fish taco with just the chicken and some cheese – but packed a great punch of flavour.

I’m definitely going to have to mosy on over to their Blue truck that serves burritos and also their Commissary one of these days. Great meal and great value!

Food:
Best fish tacos in the city! The special chicken taco was amazing as well.

Service:
Very friendly and helpful, there’s a bit of a wait but well worth it.

Value:
Most of the time, I find a lot of food truck prices a little overwhelming for what they are, however I think the prices here at Tacofino are quite fair.

Ambiance: n/a
They have a pretty cool food truck, great colour scheme and nice design.
