Liane, Adrian and myself are at it again. We’re brunching and this time, it was a celebration for Liane’s birthday. Like we need a reason to go brunching. We met up downtown and was originally going to hit up Twisted Fork but the wait was a little long and we didn’t want to wait since Liane had an appointment so we went up the street to Fish Shack.

It seemed only right to order some buck-a-shuck oysters – so we did it up with two dozen. I think it’s safe to say that my shellfish allergy has been obliterated. I survived with no symptoms. These oysters were nice, fresh and were a nice size too.

The two ordered some cocktails – Gone Fishin’ ($8) to be exact. It’s made with absolute citron, melon liquor, bold blue, fresh lemon/lime juice and a simple syrup.

I ordered the Fish & Chips lunch box again ($11.99). I actually got to choose what kind of chowder this time, so I ordered the New England Clam chowder (the creamier one).

The coleslaw is kimchi style, I’m not sure if you can ask for another type, but it never hurts to try. I enjoyed the creamy clam chowder as I prefer this version better. But the Manhattan style one isn’t bad at all.

For dessert, we split the popular Sticky Toffee Pudding ($8.50). This pudding is made with candied pecans, toffee sauce and chantilly cream. If you have a sweet tooth, this will definitely satisfy it!
